There's a wealth of things to see and do, so here are just a few highlights we thought you might like to explore while staying with us:

Torrington
The Cavalier town (2 miles away) is steeped in history where there is a museum and historical sights. The view to the south of the town has to be seen to be believed!
 
1646 Experience
This organisation holds regular demonstrations of life during the Civil War and people dressed in period costume are often seen walking around the town.
 
Dartington Glass (in Torrington)
The famous glass works renowned for quality products can be toured. In addition to the glass works tour, there is a large showroom of glassware which can be purchased. Factory discount prices apply to some products.
 
RHS: Rosemoor Garden Centre
A border within RHS RosemoorThe Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden lies one mile south of Torrington and is a haven for garden experts and enthusiastic amateurs alike. A wide variety of plants and gifts for sale. 
 
Lundy Island

The home of the puffin (Lund-ey is Norse for Puffin Island) and a wide variety of flora and fauna is well worth a visit. In season, day trips by sea ferry leave from Bideford Quay (01271-863636) or by helicopter from Westward Ho (01237-421043). Booking is advisable for both.

 
The Tarka Trail
The 180 mile route takes walkers and cyclists through North and Mid Devon. You can join and leave it at various points along the route.
 
Cliff top walks
Routes along the north coast offer wonderful views of Lundy Island, Wales and shipping. Exmoor and Dartmoor are easily reached too.
 
Clovelly
The world famous and unique village offers visitors an insight into times past. Visitors can either walk down the steep cobbled high street to the hotel in the harbour, or ride by Land Rover.
 
Beaches
Westward Ho, Instow and other beaches offer visitors a variety of choice, and none are too far from the Inn
 
Golf
There are several courses in the area.
 
Shopping
The Atlantic Village shopping centre (with a large playground for children) lies on the north side of Bideford. Barnstaple (18 miles) is a large town also with shopping arcades and other attractions for tourists.
 
Bideford and Appledore
Bideford (6 miles) with its new quay is always worth visiting. The Marine Museum and sea fishing trips are available from Appledore only 3 miles further on. The ferry to Lundy Island is based in Bideford.
 
Burton Art Gallery
The Gallery is situated in the centre of Bideford, close to the quay. Offers visitors special exhibitions, workshops and a permanent exhibition of local artists. For more information, see www.burtongallery.co.uk.
